PLUS SIZE BODY SHAPE

Loving your curves can be hard sometimes, but dressing for your beautiful shape, and accentuating your assets will not only ensure you look stylish, but will help to make you feel happy and confident. And that’s what really matters!

I have produced this body shapes guide for all the curvy plus size goddesses out there!

There are many shapes and figures, but often generic style advice just doesn’t suit women who were blessed with a little more to love! You may be able to guess straight off what plus size body shape you have based solely on their names, like Hourglass, Pear and Apple. If you’re unsure, use my guide to help you know which type you’re most like, just keep on mind you might even be a combination.

My style tips are aimed at helping you step out proudly in gorgeous outfits that accentuate your favourite features. This is your styling guide for plus size fashion for all occasions, but remember that there are no rules. I just want you to feel confident in your skin and your own style.

Once you’ve found your body type, check out my plus size fashion tips for every occasion – for your body.

APPLE (ROUND) BODY

APPLE (ROUND) BODY

Women with Apple-shaped bodies are generally fuller in the middle, with full breasts and a less defined waist. Your hips are more slender, and your waist is a little thicker. Your favourite features tend to be your hips and legs, but your tummy can leave you feeling a little self-conscious.

PEAR BODY

PEAR BODY

Women with Pear-shaped bodies often have narrow shoulders, curvy hips and thighs, and a voluptuous derrière. In essence, your upper body is smaller than your lower body. This a common shape for curvy women, and to dress well you just have to flaunt your assets.

HOURGLASS BODY

HOURGLASS BODY

The Hourglass is the most well-known body shape. You usually have a slimmer waist, but a fuller bust, bigger hips and thicker thighs. Dressing for the Hourglass shape is all about showing off your curvy figure. This is a classic shape, popularised by starlets like Marilyn Monroe.

INVERTED TRIANGLE

INVERTED TRIANGLE

Women with an Inverted Triangle shape generally have broad shoulders, and a fuller bust.
While you may be impressively top-heavy, you have slender hips, bum and legs. To dress well for this shape, it’s all about minimising and accentuating your features.

DIAMOND BODY

DIAMOND BODY

In general, Diamond-shaped women have slender shoulders & arms, a wider midriff, voluptuous hips & thighs, & slim calves. Diamond women tend to have an undefined waist, that is flat side on. Dressing for this shape is all about adding a little sparkle by highlighting your assets.

RECTANGLE

RECTANGLE

Rectangle have less curvy than other shapes, without a very defined waist. They tend to have flatter busts and bottoms. This the easier shapes to dress, as rectangles can rock a variety of different looks. A-line skirts or high waisted pants with tucked in blouses can be very complimentary. A well fitting bra also helps to add shape to the bus.
